Anti Litter
These images are all from anti litter campaigns that i thought were rather creative. There are a few that just set a presidence though. Its always good to see what is expected so you can produce something that isn't.
Devices and Metaphors i liked
1. using the takeaways to make the beach image. Its a little bit out of the ordinary.
2. used the rubbish as to spell out a message. very clever, but offensive and shocking too
3. simple vector. simple colour scheme. showing below water level. it makes for a very clean easily read design
4. The idea of a trash sculpture. a trash monster. embodying the problem as a monster opens up so many possibilities.
5. again sculpture. simple and effective. we have to make a third media, a sculpture could be a great talking point for the event.
6. it shows truly how much trash is found in that one area. very clever and informative/gross out factor
7. juxtaposition of the trash being part of the eco system and commenting on how wrong it is
8. anthropomorphism. its very cute, appeals to pretty much all females and some males of any age
1. use of the broom as a symbol for clean up
2. trash monster
3. do the right thing being on the right side of the page. very subtle, almost a pun
4. use of blood for writing. text is incorporated into the image not pasted over.
5. another example of trash sculpture
6. more trash collage
7. use of hand. anonymity. any white male could see it as themselves.
8. exaggeration
1 & 2. more collage
3. more anthropomorphism. It makes you feel for the animals
Beach Clean-up
Vector/illustration x Photography
With these images i was looking into existing presidences of photography and vector into conjunction with each other. The idea came to me because Emma prefers to do illustrations, and i prefer photography. I have only seen this used in the movies i.e Roger Rabbit before. I find the contrast to be extremely engaging, probably because we haven't been overloaded with it.
I also loved the Ben Heine images where he lines up drawings of the goat etc with the real thing and photographs it. there are a few other examples of that in this images.
Double exposures are also quite intriguing. I could keep that in mind for style.
I think my favourite of these images though is the superimposed video game/disney characters. I love the idea of taking the characters out of their game into the real world. it comes back to making the familiar unfamiliar.
