I dont like the water level in this one. It is working well otherwise.

not liking the lower third. the tagline should be in the details grid.

liking the sand writing in this one. water level looks much better.

the font change of the tagline makes quite harsh but looks more like sand writing

character interacting with the bottle and burst makes its current "off-screen" placement awkward

better placement but bottle might be too large even for exaggerated size used in games

better proportions

trying to get beach quest back into the composition.

29/9/2015 - DAY 8

Pairs: Draft Flyer Text
29/9/2015

Text from Love Your Coast
When we leave litter lying around, it travels out to sea through drains, streams, lagoons and estuaries. Each year rubbish in our oceans harms and kills millions of sea creatures, who get caught in it or mistake it for food. Toxins from plastics poison our seafood and trash makes a perfect home for mosquitos to breed and spread disease.
How can we make a difference:
If we all use fewer products that create rubbish and dispose of what we use carefully, we can keep our beaches and oceans how they should be: litter free. For the rubbish that is already on our beaches the answer is simple: we can pick it up!

Our personalized text
In general beach clean-ups aren’t much fun. Who wants to give up their weekend, and their gaming, for a disgusting chore like picking up trash? Our Trash-ure hunt is a step above the rest. Not only is it a fun alternative, but it lets you compete with your mates and experience a new kind of game. This event is also an exciting family day out. As an added incentive everybody gets a free barbeque lunch. Everyone wins, but only one can reign supreme.
Facts
How long does rubbish stay in our oceans: Plastic bottles : 250 years Aluminum cans : 80-100 years Plastic bags : 20-50 years Cigarette butts : 1-5 years Glass : 1 million years Plastic beverage holder: 6 months

Game Info
A game where you’re given a rubbish bag, along with a check list – if you haven’t gotten it.
Then you have to go out and collect rubbish, any rubbish. When you return and give what you’ve collected to an organizer or volunteer they will give you a score and write the score on the check list. If you collect the mystery item you will get extra points, so pick up everything. You get 1 hour to complete the ‘level’ and collect as much rubbish as you can. When you are given your total amount, then you are given your award which symbolizes what prizes you can get. Bronze: Sausage and water. Platinum: 1 biodegradable cup of Beer/Wine, along with burger and chips

Satina: Testing my idea: drawing pixels quickly
1/10/2015
I would get annoyed using the lasso tool when the grid was on because it would select the squares. But thats exactly what we want it to do for pixels. done properly it should look amazing. works with a square brush too for finer detail.

How it Works (flyer/website)
You get one hour, once the foghorn sounds, to complete the 'level'. The mission is to pick up as much rubbish as possible. Each item of rubbish you pick up is worth points. The more points you get, the better your barbeque options. Items too big or heavy to be put in your bag may be taken to the scoring desks early. Generally these items are worth more points, so it could be worth the trip. Another foghorn will sound indicating the end of your hour. You have 15 minutes to report to scoring desks with your filled bag and ID card. Then just sit back, relax and watch the leader board for your score. Once your score shows up you'll it's barbeque time!
Note: There is a mystery item worth mega bonus points, so pick up everything!

What is a Trash-ure Hunt? ( for website?)
Our Trash-ure hunt is a step above other beach clean-ups, combining entertainment with eco-responsibilty. In general beach clean-ups aren’t much fun. Who wants to give up their weekend, and their gaming time, for a disgusting chore like picking up trash?  That's why we have created a fun alternative that lets you compete with your mates and help the environment. This event is also a fun and educational family day out, with a seperate section of the beach reserved for those less competitive.  Still not convinced? As an added incentive all participants get a free barbeque dinner, so everyone wins, but only one can reign supreme.

Important Information (website)
You must register your name, alias, contact details and upload your avatar by October 25th if you wish to compete. If you miss this dead line, don't fret, you can still come along on the day and be issued a standard id. This means you can still earn points and barbeque achievement tiers, but aren't eligible for the grand prize.

    4/10/2015
These are the 8-bit fonts i found most legible. I'm favouring Green screen for its authentic DOS and 8-bit aesthetic, and System for its compactness and legibility. I also like Fixedys as its a happy medium between both. With some kerning Green screen should work the best for our game theme.
